Bright Osayi-Samuel receives heroic welcome at famous Fenerbahce Stadium as fans sing nis name

Nigeria defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, has become the toast of Fenerbahce fans following his brave reaction during the invasion of the pitch by supporters of Trabzonspor in a league game.

The Super Eagles right-back stood his ground and fought off a fan, who approached him with what looked like a weapon moments after the final whistle of their match against Trabzonspor a fortnight ago.

Osayi-Samuel helped the Turkish giants to a 3-2 victory on the road before leaving for international duty in March.

Following his return to Turkey, the fans assembled at the famous Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium following the end of the team's Extraordinary General Meeting to cheer on the defender.

In a video shared on social media, thousands of supporters chanted and praised the defender in a show of gratitude for his bravery.

Osayi-Samuel reacted by posting on X, formerly Twitter: "Forever and Always."

Meanwhile, the former Queens Park Rangers star is set to face disciplinary action for fighting a fan.

Fenerbahce will return to action on Wednesday, where they will face Adana Demirspor before the potential title decider against Galatasaray on Sunday.
