Germany legend Lothar Matthäus has confirmed that Bayern Munich has absolutely no intention of selling Michael Olise this summer.
Following recent transfer rumours heavily linking the French winger to Real Madrid, Matthäus stated that Bayern will not even entertain negotiations, noting the chances of a move are practically zero.
The Bundesliga champions view Olise as a cornerstone of their sporting project and hold all the leverage since his contract runs until 2029 with no release clause.
In an interview with German newspaper BILD, Matthäus admitted that he can understand the appeal of playing for Real Madrid but insisted Bayern will just laugh the headlines off.
“Personally, I can understand someone wanting to play for Real Madrid. But Bayern won’t even consider negotiating. The headlines will only make them laugh.
“I haven’t heard anything sources in Spain or France. But I know what Bayern think about Olise. Bayern Munich isn’t considering selling Olise. They’re actually looking to renew his contract and increase his salary.”
Despite reported rumblings coming out of the French camp that Olise might be open to a move, he has not made an official transfer request to Bayern, and the club remains totally confident he will stay.
Los Blancos have reportedly been monitoring Olise as a potential next Galáctico, aided by his international teammate Kylian Mbappé actively pushing for his arrival in Spain.
