Bayern Leverkusen midfielder Nathan Tella has expressed his delight following his call-up to the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old has been handed his maiden call-up by Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro for Nigeria's upcoming World Cup qualifier fixtures against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

Tella was eligible to represent the Three Lions of England but opted for the Super Eagles.

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Nathan Tella, is relishing the chance to wear the green and white colour of Nigeria.

Tella has been handed his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

The 24-year-old was also eligible to represent England but opted to play for the Super Eagles.

Reacting to the news of his invitation, the England-born attacking midfielder said:

“It’s a great feeling and a great opportunity for me. As a young boy and a footballer, you dream of representing your own country – and now I finally have the opportunity to do so. I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to it,” he told the club's official website.

The Super Eagles will host Lesotho and Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Thursday, November 16 before the team travels to Zimbabwe three days later.
