Bayer Leverkusen interested in Super Eagles winger

Nigeria winger Chidera Ejuke has emerged as a transfer target for Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ejuke is widely expected to leave Sevilla after another disappointing campaign for the Spanish club.

The 28-year-old struggled to make a significant impact, registering one goal and one assist in 29 La Liga appearances for the Rojiblancos.

According to reports, several Premier League clubs are also monitoring the Nigerian international, but Bayer Leverkusen are currently leading the race for his signature.

The former CSKA Moscow star is valued at €4 million by Transfermarkt, and joined Sevilla on a free transfer in 2024.

A move away from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium could offer Ejuke a fresh opportunity to revive his career after two difficult seasons in Spain.

Ejuke needs a fresh start

Ejuke has just one year remaining on his contract with Sevilla, and the club will be keen to secure a transfer fee for the winger this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of next season.

Los Nervionenses are under pressure to raise funds due to La Liga’s strict financial regulations, making player sales a priority during the transfer window.

Ejuke’s international teammate, Akor Adams, has also been linked with a move away from the club as Sevilla look to balance their books.

The Andalusian side narrowly avoided relegation from La Liga last season, finishing 17th in the table after a disappointing campaign.
