This follows their victory at the 2021 Nigeria Aiteo Federation Cup, despite playing in the second tier.

Bayelsa United becomes the first team from the second division to lift the prestigious Cup since Dolphins FC’s feat 20 years ago.

He told the press after the game that he is confident his side will improve in the next season adding that the club will do everything in their power to maintain this squad ahead of the upcoming season.

“The very important thing about is continuity. More than half of the team came in at the beginning of the campaign and surprisingly they blended quickly to the system of the team.

“We are I’m confident, they will be much better next season, because the understanding and coordination will improve.

“So by keeping them together, they will surely get better,” he concluded.
