Bassey endures frustrating outing against Ado Den Haag

Nigeria’s defender Calvin Bassey was in action for Ajax in the league game against Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday.

The young defender returned to the starting 11 after featuring for Nigeria during last week’s international break.

Bassey had a good game, but couldn’t guide the champions to victory in front of this own crowd as the game ended 1-1.

The 22 year-old Nigeria international completed 92% of his passes, had 104 touches and won three (3) tackles.

The CB also won two (2) aerial duels and was the most fouled player on the pitch.

Meanwhile Ajax have now failed to win any of their last games in all competitions.

Alfred Schreuder’s will be hoping to end the poor run when the host Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.
