Barcelona's Oshoala backs Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr amid racist chants saga

Barcelona Superstar Asisat Oshoala has backed Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior in the wake of the waging racist chants targeted at the Brazilian sensation.

The 22-year-old was the target of racist abuse during Real's 2-1 victory against Athleti at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday, September 18.

According to reports in Spain, racist chants by fans of the home team were heard in and outside the stadium.

The monkey chants were fuelled by the dance celebration by the Brazilian duo of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes following the latter's 18th-minute strike which put the Spanish Champions ahead in the Madrid derby.

Athletico Madrid captain, Koke Resurrección, and some fans of the home team deemed the dance disrespectful, and this sparked racist chants at the Black Brazilian stars on display.

Prior to the Madrid derby on Sunday, Vinicius Junior was criticized for dancing and showboating after he scored against Mallorca in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory on Matchday 5.

Many fans and Brazilian players have jumped to the defence of the young Brazilian international.

Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus dedicated his goal to his against Bretford to his national teammate.

Super Falcon's striker, Asisat Oshoala has become the latest sporting figure to throw his weight behind the Real Madrid forward.

The reigning African Women's Footballer of the Year tweeted on Sunday in solidarity with Vinicius Junior.

"The point here is that, the world will always try to force you to accept their belief but STAY FIRM, STAY YOU as far as you ain’t hurting no one. The world will adjust !!! #Dance #ATMRMA #SayNoToRacism", she tweeted.

The Spanish La Liga has seen cases of racism in the past. Some of the racial abuses are mostly targeted at African players and players from South America.
