Barcelona move to resign Messi from PSG, Xavi reacts

Popular sports journalist and transfer analyst reports that Barcelona has established contact with Lionel Messi's camp to resign the PSG forward.

Messi left the Catalans in 2021 to join the French giants.

In a Facebook post, Fabrizio Romano wrote: "Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste has confirmed for the first time the contacts to re-sign Messi.

“We have been in contact with Leo Messi’s camp. Leo knows how much we appreciate him and I’d love for him to come back here”.

“I was involved in contract talks two years ago and still remember how hard was to let Messi leave”.

“For sure Leo Messi loves Barça and the city, so we hope to find the right conditions to continue his history here”.

Meanwhile, Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez has reacted to Barcelona's move to bring back the forward.

Romano posted on his Facebook page: “It’s not the time to talk about Messi’s return. I talk a lot with him. It's a topic that we are dealing with” ???????? #FCB
“Hopefully we can see him in Barcelona again. It's the club of his life”.

Messi who was 34 at the time he left Barcelona has spent 20 years in the club after arriving from Argentina.

During that time, he became the club's record appearance holder and top scorer, scoring 672 times in 778 games. He won four Champions League and 11 LaLiga titles, and was named the best player in the world on six occasions (and for a seventh time since leaving.)
