Barca set for Valverde's exit, hands Xavi two and half year offer

Spanish giants, Barcelona is set to let coach, Ernesto Valverde, leave following reports that the club has handed former player, Xavi, a two and half year contract.

According to a report by RAC1 which was later confirmed by As, the meeting involved Eric Abidal, Oscar Grau and the former midfielder.

It appears that the ball is now in Xavi's court with the legend left to decide if he will join the team this season or before the start of the 2020-21 campaign, LivesoccerTV reported.

However, it is unsure whether Xavi is willing to leave Al-Sadd to coach his boyhood club but the move is rumoured to have excited Lionel Messi who is said to have supported the decision.

Valverde's inability to conquer Europe has been a debate amongst Barcelona fans all over the world although he's is currently top of the La-Liga table it is unsure whether Xavi will be the right successor.
