Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsi starred as the Catalan giants dispatched Victor Osimhen's Napoli 3-1 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 encounter at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

The prodigy who was handed a starting role by manager Xavi Hernandez against the Serie A champions seized the opportunity with aplomb.

The 17-year-old did a great job to keep Victor Osimhen at bay for most part of the game as the Spanish champions beat the Naples-based side by 3-1 to qualify for the quarterfinals on a 4-2 aggregate.

The young Spaniard was awarded the Man of the Match Award after the game ahead of stars like Robert Lewandowski, Joao Cancelo and Raphinha who were all in top form for the Blaugranas.

Speaking in post-match interview, the La Masia product credited Barca boss Xavi Hernandez for giving him tips on how to stop the Nigerian international.

“Xavi (Barcelona coach) gave me all the details to try and stop Osimhen,” Cubarsi noted.

Osimhen failed to replicate his performance in the first leg as he managed a single short on target in the game.
