Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan, is backing Victor Osimhen to make a move to Saudi Arabia after the Napoli star was linked to Al-Hilal.

The Saudi Pro League side made a reported offer of €140 million for the Nigerian forward on Monday, but his club rejected the bid.

After news broke of Al-Hilal's interest in the prolific goal-scorer, social media went into a frenzy as many reacted to share their views.

Ghanaian sports journalist, George Addo Junior - who works with the BBC - shared a report on Twitter, attracting a reaction from Gyan.

The former Black Stars striker, who spent a couple of years in the Middle East playing for Al Ain and Shaba Al Ahli, used a curious emoji which seemed to encourage Osimhen to move to Saudi Arabia.

The former Ghana international left Sunderland at the peak of his career to play in in the United Arab Emirates.

Gyan announced his retirement from football recently after almost two decades with the national team of Ghana, as reported by the BBC. He holds the record of being the African player with the most goals at the FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, Osimhen is yet to decide on his future after a heroic campaign with Napoli last season. The Super Eagles forward led the Italian side to their first Serie A title in 33 years.
