Arsenal's Thomas Partey set to miss Nigeria vs Ghana friendly

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pulled out of the Black Stars squad which will face the Super Eagles on Friday, March 22.

Partey, who is yet to feature for the Black Stars this year missed the 2023 African Cup of Nations due to injury.

The 30-year-old is now recovering from a groin injury he sustained in November last year.

The ex-Athletico Madrid player made a cameo appearance during Arsenal's dominant 6-0 victory over Sheffield United earlier this month.

The Black Stars deputy skipper has seen just 276 minutes of Premier League football this season.

Partey made a huge impact the last time the two sides met, as his first half strike won the Black Stars the FIFA World Cup ticket via the away goal rule in March 2022.

Nigeria will take on their archrivals Ghana in what will be an exciting encounter in Marrakech, Morocco before facing Uganda four days later.
