SJK Seinäjoki goalkeeper, Ovie Ejeheri has been invited to train with the Flying Eagles, soccernet.ng reports.

Ovie Ejeheri, who is on loan at the Finnish side, SJK Seinäjoki, from Arsenal, has made headlines in the football world with his excellent performances in Finland’s Veikkausliiga. The 20-year-old shot-stopper has been an outstanding performer for both his club sides, keeping his 20 clean sheets since August 2022.

Ejeheri was officially called up to train with the Flying Eagles during the winter break, before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, but couldn’t attend the training camp in Abuja due to his duties at his club side.

Born in 2003, Ovie joined Arsenal when he was eight years old and signed his first professional contract with the club in August 2021. Having spent his entire youth in the Arsenal academy, the goalkeeper signed for National League South club side, Chelmsford City in July 2022, and in just the first half of the season, he kept twelve clean sheets in just twenty-five games and made the move to SJK Seinäjoki on 28th January 2023, and since then, his career has been on the rise with a string of fine performances where he recorded another eight clean sheets, bringing his total to twenty clean sheets in all competitions across Europe.

The goalkeepers’ performances have piqued the interest of both football fans and experts, with many applauding his shot-stopping talents and calm under pressure. His selection to train with the Flying Eagles demonstrates his talent and promise, and he will be trying to make an impression on the national team coaches.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to play for SJK Seinäjoki and to be called up to train with the Flying Eagles,” Ejeheri remarked of his recent achievement. I’m simply trying to work hard and improve my game so that I can continue to serve my club and have a great impact on the national team.”

Ejeheri will hope to build on his recent success and continue to perform on the pitch. His performances for SJK Seinäjoki and his call-up to train with the Flying Eagles are just the start of what looks to be a long and successful career in football.
