Alan Shearer is learning quickly that life comes at you fast.

Just when he was about to celebrate his former side, Newcastle United, completing a historic Champions League double over Paris Saint-Germain, they conceded a stoppage-time penalty, which Kylian Mbappe duly converted.

Tino Livramento was adjudged to have made his body unnaturally bigger when he stopped an Ousmane Dembele cross inside the penalty area. The bone of contention was that the ball ricocheted off his chest before hitting his arm, which ordinarily should be excused under UEFA's board advisory recommendations.

But the referee, Szymon Marciniak, awarded the penalty, which left Shearer posting expletives on his X account(formerly Twitter)

The Premier League all-time top scorer was understandably livid with the decision, which instantly relegated the Magpies to third place on the table.

Fans, especially Arsenal fans, were quick to remind him of how he celebrated a decision that went his way a couple of weeks back.

The incident happened when Newcastle survived a triple VAR check to get the Anthony Gordon goal against the Gunners.

Joe Willock was thought to have retrieved the ball after it had crossed the line before swinging it into the area. Joelinton appeared to shove Gabriel Magalhaes before finding Gordon, who was thought to be offside.

The goal was given, prompting a nod of approval from Shearer, who tweeted;

"Well done, ref! You are the man."
Fans have now called him out for double standards as he cried over the decision that went against them in Paris.

@Kazafy said; "When it happens to them, it’s a different story ref’s decision, move on. Can’t hear those words coming out from him today."

@silvaginif said; "Cook that Alan. He deserves the pain and tears from the result of the match" The result at the Parc Des Princes leaves Eddie Howe's chances of qualifying for the round of 16 in jeopardy. They must beat AC Milan on the final day and hope Borussia Dortmund beat PSG on the final match day.
