Arise TV journalist, Rufai Oseni has hinted at a possible racism foul-play amid reports that Nigerian billionaire, Dozy Mmobuosi's proposed takeover of Sheffield United is set to hit a snag.

Dozy has reportedly pumped £ 8.7 million into Sheffield United to help the cash-strapped club through its financial crises.

Reports say Dozy's relationship with the club's current owner Prince Abdullah has broken down, casting doubts on the possible takeover.

Having helped the club secure promotion to the Premier League, Rufai believes the club owners are looking for ways to push the Lagos-born billionaire out of the club.

“I don't know why the Dozy deal didn't fall through with Sheffield, is it safe for me to say it is racism?

“He puts in a bid that is over 8 million pounds and that was what was recorded. What about the other things that regard moral support for Sheffield?

“Sheffield crossing the line (gaining promotion to Premier League) largely depends on the work he has put in. Now that Sheffield has qualified for Premiership, you can't buy the club for 115 million pounds - the price is going to hike up and they are going to look for a way to push him out,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to widespread reports, the club owner remains open to the idea of selling the club despite gaining promotion to the English topflight.
