Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has been named in the English Premier League summer signing flops of the season according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old couldn't live up to the hype after joining the Saints from Glasgow Rangers last summer.

The versatile player has failed to replicate his performance for the Scottish giants for his new employers after helping Rangers to win the Scottish Cup and also to the finals of the Europa League in the 2021/2022 season.

The Nigerian international has managed just two goals in 22 appearances for Southampton across all competitions this season.

His last goal came in October 2022 in the Saint's 2-1 defeat to Everton at the Saint Mary's Stadium.

Southampton are currently sitting at rock bottom on the Premier League table with just 15 points after 22 games.

The other disappointing players who complete the XI summer signing flops are Neto (Bournemouth), Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea), Duje Caleta-Car (Southampton), Marc Cucurella (Chelsea), Thilo Kehrer (West Ham), Kalvin Phillips (Manchester City), Billy Gilmour (Brighton), Raheem Sterling (Raheem Sterling), Antony (Manchester United) and Richarlison (Tottenham Hotspurs).
