FIFA referee Facundo Tello issued ten red cards in a match between Racing Club and Boca Juniors in an Argentine domestic cup final on Sunday, November 6.

The 40-year-old is among the 36 referees selected by football's governing body for the fast-approaching World Cup in the Middle East.

According to The Mirror, the Buenos Aires-born referee gave seven red cards after Carlos Alcaraz's celebration in front of the Boca fans following his late winner.

The Boca players joined the 19-year-old to celebrate holding him by the ear and throwing the ball at him.

Alcaraz was sent off together with five other Boca players including a substitute player on the bench.

Boca won the game by 2-1.

The decision by the referee to issue ten red cards has raised concern among many ahead of the Mundial which kicks off in the next 11 days.

The record for the most red cards handed out in a single game also happened in Argentina where 36 red cards were issued in a fifth-tier league game between Claypole and Victoriano Arenas.
