Arab Money! Details of Benzema's money spinning move to Al-Ittihad revealed

Karim Benzema's move to Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad is finally completed.

The former Real Madrid captain was a free agent after leaving the Spanish capital following 14 trophy-laden years.

According to rife reports, the Frenchman will earn more than €100m (£86m) per season.

Marca reports that he will be paid 100 million euros per season, plus a bonus of 20 million euros to work as an ambassador for the 2030 World Cup, which Saudi Arabia is bidding to host.

The publication further noted that what he will earn will be no less than 220 million euros, and it could reach 320 million euros.

Fellow French star N'Golo Kante is poised to join him in Saudi Arabia while there has been speculation that Lionel Messi could also move to the league following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain.

Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha has also reportedly received an offer to join Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

"It's a good league and there are many good players," said Benzema. "Cristiano Ronaldo is already there, a friend which shows Saudi Arabia is starting to further progress its level. I am here to win like I did in Europe.

"I have been fortunate to achieve amazing things in my career and achieve everything I can in Spain and Europe. It now feels the time is right for a new challenge and project."

Benzema, who is the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, won 25 major trophies in his 14 years at Real Madrid.

Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti said Benzema’s decision to leave was a “massive surprise”.

The Frenchman finally accepted an astronomical offer from the Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, making him the highest-paid player on the planet, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo.
