Another footballer dies

A young footballer in Osogbo, Osun has been confirmed dead.

The man, identified as Damilola Oladapo, reportedly slumped and died on the pitch at Ofatedo in Egbedore Local Government Area after efforts to resuscitate him. He is said to be in his 20s.

According to Nation Sports, Oladapo was rushed to a hospital where he was certified dead.

The remains was deposited at Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital before the family later claimed the remains on Tuesday for burial.

The Coordinator of the state’ Grassroots Football Coaches Association, Leke Hamzat, who confirmed the incident to journalists, described Oladapo as unfortunate.

His death comes off the death of Enugu Rangers striker, Ifeanyi George, who lost his life early Sunday morning in a ghastly motor accident.
