Former Cameroon head coach Antonio Conceicao has become the latest manager to express interest in the vacant role at the national team.

SCORENigeria reports that the Portuguese gaffer is among the top coaches who have submitted their application to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to become the next coach of the three-time African Champions.

Conceicao, 62, coached the Indomitable Lions from 2019 to 2022.

He was at the helm when Cameroon hosted the 2021 Nations Cup and placed third.

Conceicao is an experienced manager who has managed teams in Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Romania.

The Super Eagles coaching role became vacant after the NFF parted ways with José Peseiro who led the team to the grand finale of the recently concluded African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
