Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole believes Victor Osimhen will be a great signing for Manchester United in the long run.

The 24-year-old Napoli frontman has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo as many fans believe he is the ideal replacement for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

The Super Eagles striker has been in explosive form for the Naples-based club this season and has become the subject of transfer speculations across Europe.

According to recent rumours, Manchester United are plotting a mega deal to lure the Nigerian international to Old Trafford at the season.

Cole, who featured for the Red Devils from 1995 to 2001 believes the former Lille striker will be a great signing for United in the long-term while highlighting some of his top-notch qualities.

“I think Victor Osimhen at Napoli is very good and could be the long-term natural fit. The question is whether Napoli would be prepared to let him go.

“He’s rangy, got a good first touch, scores goals, and is a decent size as well. I watched him play against Liverpool, and he was more than prepared to link the play and then run in behind.” Cole told Betway as quoted by Soccernetng.

Osimhen is the leading top scorer in Serie A with 12 goals in 14 league outings.

His impressive performance has helped Luciano Spalletti's side open a nine-point gap at the apex of the Italian Serie A and are on course to winning their first Scudetto title in over three decades.
