Reports say Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was involved in a serious multi-vehicle crash on Thursday evening while on loan in Turkey. The Cameroon international was taken to a nearby hospital for examination after a high-speed collision involving three cars.
The accident happened only hours after Onana had helped his loan club secure a clean sheet and defeat Scottish side Hearts in the Conference League. After the match, he was reportedly driving home when the collision occurred on the Yomra road near Trabzon, a Black Sea resort town. Emergency crews responded to the scene.
According to the Daily Star, accounts from local witnesses and media outlets describe a chain collision. A car allegedly struck the rear of Onana’s vehicle, sending it into the car in front and leaving the goalkeeper caught between the two impacts. The crash caused extensive damage, with debris scattered across the road.
Images and videos shared on social media showed the aftermath. Onana’s car had sustained considerable damage to its front wing, while the vehicle that hit it from behind appeared to have a badly crushed front end.
