After snatching the World Cup ticket from the clutches of Nigeria, Ghana has turned to God ahead of the fast-approaching 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Ghana Football Association, the mother body of Ghanaian football on Thursday, October 20 announced a two-day National Day of Prayer and Fasting for Muslims and Christians alike as part of activities lined up ahead of the country's preparation for the global showpiece.

On Friday, October 21, Muslims in the West African country will observe a day of fasting for the Black Stars as their Christians do their bit on Sunday, October 23.

Ghana edged out the Super Eagles in the double-header FIFA World Cup playoffs in March via the away goal rule.

Augustine Eguavoen's side failed to beat the Black Stars at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, after a goalless draw in Kumasi in the first leg.

The Black Stars of Ghana have been pitted in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

The four-time African champions will kick off their World Cup campaign against Portugal on Thursday, November 24.
