The Super Eagles of Nigeria could be without three key players when they lock horns with Guinea-Bissau in their second game of the qualifiers later today (Tuesday, September 29).

The three-time African champions will be looking to carry the winning momentum from their last game against Madagascar into today’s encounter at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau.

Eric Chelle’s side had to come from behind to edge the Indian Ocean islanders 2-1, courtesy of goals from debutants George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor.

Nigeria will be looking to dethrone Guinea-Bissau, who are currently at the top of Group L with three points and a goal difference of plus two.

However, Eric Chelle might not have some of his gallant men available for the mission ahead.

The Malian tactician, in his pre-match press conference, disclosed that Ilenikhena suffered a slight knock, and the final training session would determine his availability for the game.

“We have to manage George [Ilenikhena]. He has a little something, so we will see in the final training session,” Chelle said.

The gaffer added that two more players are under the weather.

“Apart from him, we have two or three players who are sick. We will see before Tuesday.”
