AFCON 2025: Super Eagles lose on penalties to Morocco in semi-final

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have lost 4-2 on penalties to Morocco in the semi-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria failed to create enough chances to score and could not capitalise on the few opportunities they had.

After 90 minutes, there were no goals, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

There were also no goals after 120 minutes, and the second finalist had to be decided via penalties.

Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi missed their spot-kicks for the Super Eagles, while the Atlas Lions converted all their attempts.

Morocco will now face Senegal in the final, while Nigeria will take on Egypt in the third-place playoff.
