AFCON 2023: 'The strikers are fantastic' — Ex-Super Eagles coach Rohr speaks on Nigeria's chances of winning title

Former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr says the team have top quality strikers that can fire them to glory at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles currently have the continent’s best player, Victor Osimhen in their ranks.

There are other prolific forwards like Victor Boniface, Kelechi Iheanacho and Umar Sadiq in the team.

Rohr, who guided the Super Eagles to a third-place finish at the 2019 AFCON finals stated that the strikers can propel the team to a fourth title in Cote d’Ivoire.

“Nigeria is one of the favourites, of course,” began Benin Republic coach Rohr in an interview with veteran journalist Osazu Obayiwana.

“The strikers are fantastic. They need stability to be complete.

“The midfield can find the strikers with direct football, sometimes you have to take risks.”
