Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro has dropped Leicester City's midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from the 25-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire.

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca disclosed on Monday that Super Eagles duo Ndidi and Iheanacho are battling with injuries and are unfit to feature at the AFCON for Nigeria.

“Kelechi [Iheanacho] and Wilfred [Ndidi] are both currently injured, but they are going to go with the international team, we will see if Nigeria want to include them or send them back as I said, they both have an injury at the moment,” the Italian coach said after the Foxes beat Huddersfield Town 4-1 at the King Power Stadium.

According to reports, Ndidi will be replaced by Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf.

All 24 teams are expected to submit their final squad to CAF today but have till January 10 to make changes in the event of injury.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A along with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea.
