AFCON 2023: CAF tips Osimhen, Salah, Kudus to shine at tournament

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has tipped Victor Osimhen among ten stars to shine at the 2023 AFCON.

The African football governing body described the Napoli striker as the “figurehead of Nigeria’s rich attacking frontline”.

The 25-year-old notched 10 goals in the qualifying series, including a superb double brace against Sao Tome and Principe in June 2022.

Osimhen heads into the tournament a month after he was crowned the African Footballer of the Year.

It will be the Serie A top scorer for last season's second Nations Cup appearance after missing out on the last edition in Cameroon due to injury.

Senegal’s Sadio Mane, Egypt’s talisman Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Kudus are some of the other top stars tipped by CAF to shine in Cote d’Ivoire.
