Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign four more midfielders as Mauricio Pochettino pushes to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

The Blues have been busy clearing their squad for the better part of the ongoing summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Pochettino has overseen a massive squad overhaul of the team that endured a shocking 2022/23 Premier League campaign, which saw them finish 12th.

As many as 25 players have already departed Stamford Bridge this window, with Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Mateo Kovacic among the high-profile players who have exited.

Chelsea targeting new signings

Pochettino is now understood to be keen to recruit new players to help reinforce his squad in preparation for the upcoming season.

Sky Sports reports that Brighton star, Moses Caicedo is among the players Chelsea are targeting, with the West London club getting encouragement that the 21-year-old would join them if a deal can be agreed between the clubs.

However, the Blues are understood to be targeting at least four more midfielders, including Southampton star Romeo Lavia.

Tyler Adams from relegated Leeds United has also been tipped as an option, alongside Ajax's Edson Alvarez.

Gabri Veiga of Celta Vigo is another name understood to be on Chelsea's transfer wishlist.

The West London club are scheduled to raise the curtain on their 2023/24 campaign with a clash against Liverpool.
