4 managers ruled out of Chelsea job even if Mauricio Pochettino is sacked

Mauricio Pochettino is walking on a thin line as Chelsea manager with a condition set for his continuity at the club beyond the current season by the owners.

The club’s hierarchy has reportedly demanded a European spot in the Europa League next season, or the manager could be relieved of his duties after one season.

Per David Ornstein on NBC Sports, the club will not consider four managers should Pochettino be sacked.

Four managers ruled out of the Chelsea job

1. Ruben Amorim

The club spoke to the Portuguese manager twice – before hiring Graham Potter in 2022 and Pochettino in 2023 but never offered him the manager's job. Per Daily Express, Amorim was in London two weeks ago, and the Blues denied they paid for his flight. He confirmed he would stay at Sporting next season after they won the league title yesterday.

2. Hansi Flick

Per Caught Offside, the German manager was a strong candidate to be in the Stamford Bridge dugout next season after Pochettino's suggestive comments following the 2-0 win over Tottenham. However, recent revelations have quashed this news.

3. Jose Mourinho

Since AS Roma sacked Mourinho in January, he has been linked to almost all vacant jobs in the world, including his former club. The Special One reportedly contacted the new owners after the takeover but was ignored and will be once again.

4. Antonio Conte

The 2016/17 Premier League-winning manager was linked with a return to his former club, but he will not be considered regardless of what happens with the current boss. His next job will likely be in Italy, where he is linked to Napoli and Juventus.
