Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle refused to reveal his approach for the game against Guinea-Bissau, particularly regarding a possible change of formation.

The Malian tactician started the last game against Madagascar with a 4-4-2 formation before later switching to a 4-2-3-1 as the game progressed.

The former Mali head coach was asked if he would change his team’s set-up against Guinea-Bissau, and he responded:

“This is not the same team. They have their strengths and weaknesses,” Chelle said ahead of the game.

“I have to think what we will do in Guinea-Bissau. I cannot tell you whether we will play that system or not.”

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Acting General Secretary Dr Emmanuelof has also urged the players not to underestimate Guinea-Bissau, judging from the last meeting between the two sides.

“Guinea-Bissau is a very strong team in every way you look at it. We played them at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, and we needed all our strength and diligence to win. The team is not one that we can take for granted,” Ikpeme said.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 pm local time (5:00 pm Nigerian time).
