Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has tipped the Three Lions of England to progress to the final of the 2026 World Cup ahead of defending champions Argentina.

Thomas Tuchel's side will face La Albiceleste in the semi-final of the Mundial on Wednesday in Atlanta.

England came from a goal down to beat Norway in extra time, courtesy of a brace from Jude Bellingham.

Argentina also edged Switzerland 3-1 in extra time, courtesy of goals from Alexis MacAllister, Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Wright stated that Argentina's narrow approach makes England the favourites going into the game.

"I think we will beat Argentina," Wright said.

“The way they play and how narrow they are. I think we are going to block them and break them.”
