Former Super Eagles international Tijani Babangida has tipped Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala to excel at the fast-approaching FIFA Women's World Cup.

Oshoala, 28, had another remarkable season with Spanish giants Barcelona Femeni winning the league title and the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The reigning African Women's footballer of the year netted 21 goals in 25 appearances for the Blaugranas.

Oshoala featured for the Super Falcons at the finals in 2015 and 2019, scoring in both tournaments.

The ex-Falcons skipper is set to make her third World Cup appearance when this year's Women s World Cup kicks off in Australia and New Zealand.

Former Super Eagles winger, Tijani believes now is the time for Oshoala to shine for Nigeria on the biggest women's football stage.

“Asisat Oshoala is shown that she’s a fantastic player and good scorer when presented with the chance.

“Her brilliant display for Barcelona last season is an indication that she is going to the World Cup to shine. In fact, it’s Oshoala’s time to shine and help the Super Falcons achieve their biggest record at the tournament.”
