2023 U-17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets MRI test results shock many

Contrary to the expectations of many, Nigeria's U-17 men's team, Golden Eaglets have passed the Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) test ahead of the 2023 U-17 Nations Cup.

All the 26-man squad invited by Nduka Ugbade passed the mandatory test which was conducted by the CAF medical team.

The MRI scan is conducted to curb age cheating in football as many African players have been accused of providing the wrong birth details to gain undue advantage.

Earlier reports indicated that the team would have faced disqualification if the test results had turned out otherwise.

The players together with the other officials departed for their base in Constantine after the one-hour process.

Nigeria have been pitted in Group B alongside Zambia, Morocco, and South Africa.

The Golden Eaglets will kick off their campaign against Zambia on Sunday, April 30 at the Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium, Constantine.
