2023 AFCON: Super Eagles will be ready for tourny - Semi Ajayi

Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi has said the team will be at their best at the African Cup of Nations scheduled for Cote d’Ivoire next year.

The team will face host Cote d’Ivoire in Group A and will also play Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau

Ajayi stated that he and his teammates will be battle-ready for the Ivorians.

“The bigger games bring out our best,” said West Bromwich Albion defender Ajayi.

“So, I am really excited we are drawn against the host nation, there will be more attention on us because of that.”

The Super Eagles will open their campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Abidjan, on January 14, before they face the host country four days later.

Their final group game will be against now familiar foes Guinea Bissau on January 22.
