Twitter users blast Kiki Mordi for spearheading calls to boycott Wema Bank

Earlier today, Wema Bank sent a message commemorating the International Women's day celebrations

However, the message was jarred with a very explosive backlash from BBC's Sex for grades journalist, Kiki Mordi who called for a boycott of the bank

While several people were divided over the outcome of the tweet and felt it was unnecessary. Others stood with Mordi. A greater bulk of twitter folks felt the call for the boycott wasn't just impossible but dramatic.

People still think that their tweets can actually influence social change.

I don't see what's wrong with the Wema Bank copy. Women prop up patriarchy and uphold misogyny, and that was what the bank's ad highlighted.
