Sugabelly mocks Muslim women who want to remain their husband's only wife

Nigerian feminist, Sugabelly has mocked Muslim women who want to remain their husband's only wife despite their religion prescribing four wives for a man.

Sugabelly stated this in reaction to the death sentence issued to Maryam Sanda for killing her husband Bilyaminu Bello.

Maryam Sanda stabbed her husband to death with broken bottles after she found a text message on his phone which drew suspicion of infidelity.

The news which sparked a debate on social media drew a reaction from Sugabelly who wrote:

"So several years later, Maryam Sanda has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello for attempting to marry a second wife. Let this case be a lesson to Muslim women who are so brainwashed and are so fond of deceiving themselves.

"Through the years I have seen so many feminism debates where Muslim women come out to say they don’t need feminism because, and I quote “Islam gives me rights” Yet clearly so many of you are miserable with the so called “rights” you have in Islam. Do you have rights or not?

"Just like Maryam Sanda, majority of you desperately want to be the only wife. Majority of you desperately want rights that are not afforded you by Islam yet you keep clinging to and defending a religion you claim to believe in yet your actions show you are unhappy with.

"Feminism is completely incompatible with Islam. Women’s rights and women’s equality are completely incompatible with Islam. There are only two modes: subjugate to men as a normal woman, and put on an unrealistic pedestal and worshipped in a golden cage as a mother.

"If you know you are unhappy with your lot in life as a Muslim woman vis a vis Muslim men. If you know you are pretending you can accept your husband having a second, third, or fourth wife Then you had better start telling yourself some hard truths about this religion you follow.

"Majority of people in the world are only the religion they are because they were born into it. The same ferocity you are using to defend Islam claiming it’s perfect is the same ferocity you would have used to defend Shangolo if you were born a Shangolo worshipper.

"Stop allowing the lottery of birth lock you into a lifetime of unhappiness, inner subjugation with outward pretentiousness, and hypocrisy Either you fight to reform Islam and you fight fiercely for the rights you want, or you stop subscribing to a religion that makes you unhappy.

"Maryam clearly knew she would never tolerate another wife, yet as a Muslim woman, she married a Muslim man, who we all know is allowed to have four wives. Why bother?"

So several years later, Maryam Sanda has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello for attempting to marry a second wife.

Let this case be a lesson to Muslim women who are so brainwashed and are so fond of deceiving themselves.
