Lawyer writes NYSC, demands payment of new allawee for ex-corp members

A Nigerian Lawyer, Adekunle Olanipekun Esq, has written the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, to demand the balance of the newly approved allawee in Arrears to Ex-Corps Members who were in service from April 2019, the time the Minimum Wage (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Act was signed into law.

According to Nnadi Goodluck, the NYSC Batches involved are 2018 Batch B Stream 1, 2018 Batch B Stream 2, 2018 Batch C Stream 1 and 2018 Batch C Stream 2.

In a document sighted by MyNigeria, the beneficiaries of the newly approved allawee are Ex-Corpers in batch 2018 Batch B Stream 1, expected to receive ?39,600; 2018 Batch B, Stream 2, ?52,800; 2018 Batch C, Stream 1, to receive ?79,200; and 2018 Batch C Stream 2; to receive ?92,400.

The Director-General of NYSC reportedly confirmed receipt of the said letter, MyNigeria learnt.
