Lagos residents have taken actions to reverse the ban placed on motorcycles and tricycles in some areas in Lagos state.

To that effect, they planned a protest tagged #OccupyLagos as a means of passing their grievances to the state government.

Mobilised by a twitter handler known as @raychellered, she is hoping to reinstate motorcyclists alongside tricycle riders. She also explained that she was seeking to regulate the operation of banned vehicles and reduce crime rates in the process.

Reiterating the purpose of #OccupyLagos, she tweeted: "A number of people have been asking what the protest is for.

"We are protesting the outright ban imposed on motorcycles and tricycles in some areas in Lagos state which has led to more hardship on Lagosians.

This is what #OccupyLagos is about."

The twitter user also went ahead to inform the public that the protest is to hold in three days' time. Urging residents to express their displeasure concerning the Keke/bike ban; she admonished them to come in comfortable clothing and bring their phones, placards, and means of identification along.

"The #OccupyLagos protest will hold on Saturday morning (08/01/2020) near Eko Atlantic. Exact meeting point and time will be communicated later.

Please, come in comfortable sports clothing. Also, bring your phones, placards and means of identification," she added.
