EFCC to investigate GTbank over illegitimate account freeze

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is set to grant a Twitter user's request by investigating an illegal bank dealing involving the Guarantee Trust Bank and the user, GTB.

The Twitter user, identified as Sisi, drew EFCC's attention in a tweet to the fact that GTB froze her account illegally without a court order.

She tweeted, "It's only in Nigeria that @gtbank will freeze an account on the orders of @officialEFCC...without a court order. Who can help me?"

The EFFC responded with an offer to help investigate the matter as long as her claim is accurate.

"We'd be willing to investigate this if you can forward details as a report to our DM, only if your assertion is true, " EFCC replied.
