About 44 suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists have been killed in a series of coordinated, intelligence-led offensive operations by Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) across Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Acting Military Information Officer for the theatre, Captain Mohammed Goni, the operations also left scores of insurgents with varying degrees of injuries, while several vehicles, motorcycles, and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials were destroyed.
On October 26, 2026, troops acting on actionable intelligence engaged suspected terrorists at separate locations within the Kukawa Local Government Area. Battle damage assessments confirmed that 28 terrorists were neutralised, while six others sustained injuries.
On October 28, the Maritime Component of Naval Base Lake Chad, deployed in Baga, launched offensive strikes against terrorist enclaves in the Lake Chad basin. The operation resulted in the neutralisation of eight fighters and left 10 others injured.
A separate air interdiction mission successfully thwarted a planned IED-laying operation, eliminating eight operatives and obliterating their vehicle, motorcycles, and bomb-making materials before they could strike.
Captain Goni noted that these successes underscore the military's unrelenting pressure on terrorist networks through joint operations. He reiterated the command's commitment to degrading insurgent capabilities, restricting their freedom of movement, and securing communities across the North-East.
The Theatre Command has once again urged members of the public to provide credible information to security agencies to aid ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace to the region.
The latest onslaught follows a similar operation on Monday, where troops eliminated 16 ISWAP fighters during artillery and air strikes in the Tunbunma area of South Lake Chad.
