Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri casts a ballot at his polling unit in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government.

The governor will be seeking re-election under the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was the first to vote among his three peers in the governorship election taking place in three Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states on Saturday.

The Governor voted less than five minutes after he arrived at his polling unit 4, Kalowoi ward 6 in Sampou community, Kolokuma Opokuma local government of the state at about 8.30 am.

Diri, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for making the process seamless at least in his polling unit.

“It’s an improvement in all elections I have participated in. It is very seamless, very fast. INEC has improved on its processes and training of its staff,” the Governor told journalists after voting.
