Fire guts Ooni of Ife's palace

Report indicate that a section of the Ooni of Ife's Palace has been gutted by fire.

It was gathered that the fire was linked to a power surge.

In a video shared on social media, the courtyard of the palace was gutted by fire at about 11:30pm on Friday, April 28, moments after the electrical appliances in the affected apartment exploded.

According to reports, it took the intervention of the fire service, palace aides and indigenes to quench the fire.

Palace spokesman, Otunba Moses Olafare, explained that the situation has been brought under control.
