Despite the victory of Sim Fubara, the winner of the governorship candidate in the just-ended elections in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, the governorship candidate for the APC in the elections has noted that the state is not owned by the party.

Cole, who is challenging the victory of Fubara stressed that but for the threat to the life of persons by the Wike led-administration, the All Progressives Congress (APC) would have won the March 25 elections.

He said in an exclusive interview on Channels TV that despite the PDP ruling the state since 1999, this year would have been different.

"I would have loved for that to be tested without intimidation, and violence and just allowed a free and fair election to hold. We have always said that violence and the ability to rig have made Rivers a PDP state since 1999."

"This time around, we know that people wanted to vote differently and it was the fear of allowing a free and fair election that would have shown that Rivers is not a PDP state. When people are popular and know that they have done well as a government then they would have nothing to fear and would allow a free and fair election."

"This election in Rivers State was far from free, far from fair and what we had was a hijacked election and that was as a result of the fact that they know they haven't done well."
