Governor Ayade wields big stick sacks special advisers

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has sacked two of his special advisers.

The sacked Aides include the Governor’s special adviser on politics in the office of the chief of staff, Peter Okaba. He is to be replaced by Romanus Abua with immediate effect.

Another is Tony Adah who was a special adviser to the governor on project monitoring. Godwin Orim is to replace him immediately.

Barrister Christian Ita, chief press secretary and special adviser to Ayade on media, confirmed the sacking in two different letters he signed on Monday.

Political observers claim the sack may be a fallout of the Governor’s defeat at the Cross River North senatorial District election on February 25, 2023, by Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the PDP.
