A traditional ruler in Osun State, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurasheed Akanbi, has warned Nigerians against voting for corrupt politicians in the year 2023.

The monarch in his new year message made available to our correspondent by his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, on Saturday, advised the electorates to consider voting credible with corruption-free agenda in the coming general elections.

He specifically advised that the manifesto of candidates with a special interest in corruption fighting should be considered, stressing that there is a need to restore Nigeria’s glory.

The monarch noted that the decay in Nigeria’s system is occasioned by corrupt leaders, urging electorates to speak by voting for credible candidates with track records and pledges of corrupt free administration.

He expressed hope that Nigeria will be great again should we all decide to make it great by electing and appointing credible individuals into leadership positions.

“I’m so optimistic in Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigeria is blessed with rich resources enough to cater to the needs of all and sundry.

“The only bane to our desired growth is corruption and corrupt politicians. 2023 is here and will present a golden opportunity to right the wrong by voting for credible individuals without blemish to lead us to greatness. Electorates can restore sanity by asking questions and ensuring that candidates with corrupt free agendas are voted for.

“Our destiny is in our hands. I urge Nigerians to speak with their votes by rejecting corrupt politicians who are likely to contribute to Nigeria’s woes,” the monarch added.
