Zainab Aliyu, the lady who was mjiled in Saudi Arabia after she was wrongly accused of drug trafficking has finished her National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

Zainab Aliyu spent four months in jail in Saudi Arabia after a luggage tagged with her name was found to contain hard drugs.

She was rescued after the intervention of Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs which called for an investigation to ascertain her claim of innocence.

“Investigations conducted by the Airport Authorities and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano discovered a drug cartel at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, that specialises in planting illicit drugs on innocent travellers without their knowledge.

“It was also discovered that the bag tagged in Zainab’s name was planted by the cartel without her knowledge", the ministry said in a statement.

Her release from jail was immediately facilitated and Zainab Aliyu was reunited with her family in Nigeria.
