Video of two police officer killed during an attack on the Abia State Commissioner for Trade, Investments, Commerce and Industry, Dr. Chibueze Ukaegbu has raised concerns.

According to report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 25, at Old Express Road by Faulks near Samek Junction at Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State.

An eyewitness narrated how hoodlums ambushed the commissioner while on his way back from a meeting in Aba.

It has been reported that the bodies of the two police officers have been deposited in the mortuary.

Videos of the incident showed one of the murdered policemen laying on the floor in a pool of blood and a police vehicle on fire.

Several residents were seen gathered at the scene and looked on as the officers remained on the floor.

Saharareporters said in a report that hundreds of policemen were deployed to Ariaria International Market, who were shooting and harassing innocent traders because of the incident.

A source told the publication, "Please, help us. This morning, policemen took over Ariaria International Market, shooting and harassing innocent traders because of the unfortunate killing of two police officers yesterday. The innocent traders and residents were not the ones that killed the policemen.

"Nigerian security agencies should stop being cruel when such incidents happen. Nobody is happy with this insecurity. If you attack innocent traders and residents, how will they trust you and provide information to the police to help them track criminals? The police should deploy intelligence to fight crime in society."

The publication noted that all efforts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ogbonna Geoffrey proved futile.
