The US Embassy in Nigeria has held seconds of silence in solidarity with those protesting the murders of George Floyd and others in America.

The protest was sparked after Floyd, an African-American was brutally killed during an arrest by four white cops.

From Minnesota where the killing took place, the protest has spread to the UK and as far as Australia with demand for justice for the victim.

Taking to Twitter, the US Embassy shared a picture showing its staff bending a knee to show solidarity.

A tweeted reads: "Today at the Embassy, we joined together in 84 seconds of silence in solidarity with those at home and around the world protesting the murders of George Floyd & others. We sincerely hope that all of us will learn from this episode & use it as inspiration to create a better world".
