Two killed in cult clashes in Asaba

Two men have been killed following a series of cult clashes in Asaba, Delta State.

The victims, Oboh and Ogwashi-Uku were both students of Mass Communication.

Oboh was reportedly shot dead while he watchign football by suspected cultists.

Niger Delta Today gathered that locals believe his death to be reprisal attack.

A source said: “Oboh came to watch football in the bar and he was drinking around 10:00pm when three armed men came into bar and shot him.

“The gunmen put off the generating set and told everyone to remain calm that they came for him (Oboh) alone. They shot him four times and dragged him outside the bar.”

Similarly, Ogwashi-Uku was also shot dead in another reprisal attack at neighboring Isierke quarters in the early hours of Friday.

The Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the incident, said the killings were as a result of attacks from two rival gangs, Niger Delta Today reported.

Onovwakpoyeya said the command was already investigating both killings to unravel the perpetrators of the crime.
